production of Acetone from iso- propanol

Abstract

The aim of the project is to designed a chemical process to produce Acetone from Iso-propyl-alcohol (IPA) with a conversion of 90% and a capacity of 33,000 metric tons per year at the given conditions. comprehensive material and energy balance together with detailed design calculations for a reactor were carried out. Physical and chemical properties, manufacturing processes of Acetone, and instrumentation flow sheet were also included.
